Fan Laboratory of Molecular Endocrinology

The Fan lab is located at Department of Medicine Huddinge (MedH) in the south campus of Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm. Our lab was established in 2019 and mainly investigates genetic and epigenetic mechanisms involved in metabolic disorders (such as Type 2 diabetes, liver and cardiovascular disorders). By integrating multi-omics approaches and state-of-the-art molecular biology techniques with animal models and human cohorts, we are aiming to dissect the disease relevant chromatin remodelling events controlled by transcription factors and coregulators in different metabolic cells and tissues. We hope to identify novel targets with therapeutic and diagnostic value.
